Long-Term Prayer Requests:
Paperwork- We will need to get paperwork done to be legal missionaries in Mexico. This specific visa, the FM3, will allow us to own land and cars, transport Mexicans in our vehicles, and most importantly, conduct “religious activities.”
Also, we will need to have paperwork done on the plane both in the USA and in Mexico. We plan to register the airplane in the USA, but then move it down to Mexico and use it full-time in Molango. Both of these processes are rather time-consuming and expensive. Please pray they can be done in a timely fashion and that all would go smoothly.
House- We have inquired about housing on our last two trips to Molango, but as of yet have no solid leads. Pray with us that we would find something close to the runway for a decent price. Having grown up in Mexico, Ethan knows what is a reasonable price for a home there. The problem is people see white skin and think, “American- he must be rich!” and try to make loads of money off of the deal.
Hangar- We need to build a hangar to house the airplane. In order to be good stewards of what God has given us, we wish to keep the plane out of the elements and there is nothing of this sort already existing. There are a few potential pieces of land just off the runway that we have been looking at. Pray that we would be able to obtain some land close to the runway where we can build this hangar. Also, pray that the necessary funds would be supplied in due time. This project has an estimated cost of around $7,000.
Aviation/ unregistered runways- We have recently discovered that unregistered runways are illegal in Mexico. Please pray for us as we seek to get our future landing strips registered as legal runways. As a whole, general/private aviation in Mexico is basically shut down right now due to the increase of cartel activity. Pray for open doors.
Ministry partners- Two families have expressed a desire to partner with us in our ministry to the unreached people groups. One is a Mexican family, friends from Instituto Bautista Manantial- the Bible Institute that Ethan graduated from in Mexico. Natanael Muñoz is already serving in Hidalgo as a pastor in his hometown with his wife and daughter. The other family is an American couple from Louisiana. Read more about Jacob and Heather Shaver. Ask God to give us all wisdom concerning the future.
Open hearts- People are dying every day without hearing about Christ’s redemptive work. The cult of the dead, witchcraft, mysticism, and Catholicism mixed with Indian folklore all are deeply entrenched within the culture. Please pray that God would work in their hearts now, so that when we arrive they would be tender and open to the gospel.
